Thanks to Ol’ Crimson Booster Club president and original flag-waver Tom Pounds, Club founder and secretary/treasurer John Bley, Cougar alums and fans around the country, as well as the financial support of Cougar faithful, Ol’ Crimson – along with sidekick Whitey – has captured the attention and admiration of the college football world.
Before the 2012 season, Whitey was retired to in honor of WSU alum Steve Gleason’s #nowhiteflags campaign. A new gray flag was sewn and debuted in Arlington, TX at the first ESPN College Gameday show of the year. A new Ol’ Crimson flag was sewn for the 2012 season as well.
