321 – Columbus

Today, Ol’ Crimson kicked off the 2025/26 season with its 321st consecutive appearance on ESPN College GameDay, proudly waving once again in Columbus, Ohio! This week was especially meaningful as Washington State University President Dr. Elizabeth “Betsy” Cantwell joined Tom Pounds, the originator of the Ol’ Crimson tradition, to wave the flag on set.

It was also a historic and emotional day for College GameDay as we honored Lee Corso on his final show. After nearly 40 years as a beloved figure of the program, there will never be another like him. To celebrate his incredible legacy, career, and unforgettable catchphrases, Ol’ Crimson carries a special inscription this season in his honor. Cougar Nation salutes Coach Corso for the joy he’s brought to college football fans everywhere.

With tradition, passion, and gratitude woven into every wave, Ol’ Crimson continues its remarkable streak—Go Cougs!
