Ol’ Crimson began the 2026/27 NCAA College Football season with its 338th straight appearance on ESPN College GameDay, waving proudly in Baton Rouge, Louisiana! The week also marked an exciting moment for the streak. Ol’ Crimson was inducted into ESPN College GameDay’s “Hall of Fans,” which is a tribute to the many years of effort to ensure that the Washington State flag appears at every GameDay site. To the Cougs who carry it, ship it, raise it, and wave it; to all those who have supported keeping this tradition alive over the 338 straight shows; this award belongs to all of Cougar Nation. A mission to raise awareness of WSU has turned into one of the most beloved traditions in college football — and after 338 appearances, we’re still waving.
